UPDF leader Mithun Chakma shot dead in Khagrachari

KHAGRACHARI, JAN 03: An organizer of United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF), Mithun Chakma was shot dead by a group of unknown miscreants in Khagrachari of Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) in Bangladesh this afternoon.

The UPDF activist was shot while returning from Khagrachari District Court after attending a hearing and he was abducted by a group of armed miscreants from Aparna Chowdhury Para around 12:30 PM on Wednesday. The armed miscreants took him to sluice gate area where they shot him in his head and abdomen.

The locals of the area found him in critical condition and rushed him to nearby hospital where the doctors on duty declared him dead. According to the doctors there were six bullets wound found on his body.

UPDF General Secretary, Rabi Shankar Chakma said in a press statement, an Army supported group which called Mukosh Bahini (Mask Forced) killed his organiser, Mithun Chakma and while strongly condemning the incident, he calls it dastardly act of Cowardice.
