Sacred Relics Exposition of Buddha and his two chief disciples Sariputta and Mahamogallana

BUDDHAGAYA, JAN 31:  The three-day Annual sacred relics exposition and 8th Anniversary of the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi Vihara will started from tomorrow ( 1st feb to 3rd feb, 2015) to be organised by the Maha Bodhi Society of India, Buddhagaya centre in Buddhagaya. The followers would be able to Dharsan and prays to the sacred relics of the Sakyamuni Buddha and his chief disciples Sariputta and Mahamogallana at this event between 08 AM to 10 AM till 3rd february.

As per the programme early in the sunday’s morning on February 1, the procession will be taken out from Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi Vihara to the Mahabodhi Mahavihara. Schoolchildren, monks and nuns, besides other Buddhist devotees, are expected to join the procession. The procession will be led by the Joint Secretary of the Maha Bodhi Society of India and Bhikku-In-Charge of Buddhagaya centre, Ven K Medhankara Thero.

The most colorful event will be on last day of the exposition (i,e., 3rd february, 2015). The Sobha Yatra which will be started from Kalchakra Medhan to 80ft. Buddha statue. The Sobha Yatra to be taken by the Jhanki and band of school’s childrens. The relics are kept in the sanctum sanctorum of the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi Vihara around the year and are brought out for the public only during the annual exposition.
