TINSUKIA, JAN 26: Three serial blasts in Tinsukia district of Upper Assam has created sensation on friday morning while the nation celebrating 69th Republic Day. The incident took place in Jagun, Lidu and Tirap gate of Tinsukia district.
The first explosion is reported to took place on a drain in front of Jagun Police station at around 9-10 am and about one hour later followed another two blasts in Lidu and Tirap gate. No report of any casualty so far.
According to the Police official the third the third bomb was planted at a culvert and it was a low intensity bomb. Police and Army officials rushed to the spots.
10 militant groups of the North Eastern region including ULFA-I, Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland (Khaplang), Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO) and National Democratic Front of Boroland (Songbijit), People’s Democratic Council of Karbilongri (PDCK), Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL), Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP), Hynniutrep National liberation Council (HNLC), National Liberation Front Twipra (NLFT) and CorCom of Manipur called for boycott the Republic Day celebrations and also called shut down in the region on Friday.
Meanwhile, Assam governor Jagdish Mukhi had hoisted the national flag at Khanapara in Guwahati on the occasion of Republic Day.
