BORDUMSA, JULY 27: Nikh Kamin, the local MLA of Bordumsa Diyun constituency inaugurated the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) workshop for the Northeast Community Resource Management Program for upland areas (NERCORMP) here at Rajanagar village today. He along with S. Miji, ADC,Bordumsa circle welcomed the whole team of NERCORMP and has promised their every support and cooperation in their endeavor to develop his constituency under the project. He emphasized the importance of the project and said that the people of the Changlang District are fortunate that their district is being considered to employ this innovative scheme and they therefore should collaborate and participate in the development process so that the constituency becomes the model of growth and a model for further implementation of NERCORMP in the whole state.
The MLA, while announcing Rajanagar as to be the model village for NERCORMP recalled that Rajanagar was once a preferred village to be built as a model village by the then Lt. Governor in 1975 however, the project was never started. Today, with the inception of NERCORMP at the same village, it will be reinstated and will be built as the first Model village of Arunachal Pradesh fulfilling the long yearns of its people. The village under this ambitious scheme proposed to get all the amenities like community resource centre, constant water supply, livelihood units for all the villagers, roads, bridges, market sheds, farms and many such facilities absent in almost all the villages in the state, he said.
He further said that Both Diyun and Bordumsa comprise some of the most deprived communities and it is his responsibility to uplift them under his tenureship in the next five years and he will make sure that every household irrespective of caste, tribe or religions get the benefits. He thanks the Honorable CM of Arunachal Pradesh that under his leadership, this project is being undertaken in the state. He is also grateful to the Central Government for conceptualized such an innovative project.
NERCORMP III, a project of the North Eastern Council, Government of India was launched in January 2014 in Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur. The team led by Ruzing Bellai, Project Manager, NERCORMP, Changlang has already started its operations and in the next six year the team will facilitate different livelihood and social infrastructural developmental project in the whole Changlang District.
NERCORMP III will be employ in the 5 districts of two states of Northeast, Aunachal Pradesh and Manipur with a grant of about 540 crores Rupees. 292 villages are recognized to be developed under this ambitious project from which 38 villages are included from Diyun and Bordumsa Circle for the first year. Any village selected under this scheme will involve the community people to plan livelihood, infrastructural and social development for their villages. They will be train extensively and will be provided the needed resources.
NERCORMP is running since many years in different upland areas of the country and has conceptualized micro credits banking institutions for women, Rural resource centre, built Food processing units, Fisheries, piggery and farms, market sheds, roads, bridges, community halls, water reservoir and many such rural developmental projects.
The inauguration workshop was attended by people from different communities of Diyun and Bordumsa such as Chakma, Singpho, Nocte, Khamti, Adivasi etc.
