CDCC plants 400 saplings in Kamalanagar


Kamalanagar, June, 6: The Chakma District Congress Committee (CDCC) planted 400 saplings today in Kamalanagar town area starting from Helipad Road to Agriculture Farm, CADC.

The initiative for Road - side plantation was taken by Dr. Buddha Dhan Chakma, area MLA, Mizoram to mark the World Environment Day, 2018. He was accompanied by Dg. Onish Moy Chakma, i/c CEM of CADC.

Several party workers from the Congress Youth wings and Congress Mahila have participated in the plantation drive with full enthusiasm and also took the responsibility to take care of the planted saplings during their growth process.

Among the senior Congress leaders Dg. Adi Kanta Tongchangya, former CEM was also present and planted around 10 to 15 saplings.

This initiative is being carried out since 2013 when Dr. BD Chakma was the CEM of CADC. The sole aim is to make the CADC green and create a sense of awareness among the general public and to encourage community participation in such environmentally sustainable practices.
