BJP-MNF alliance set to form new government in CADC

KAMALANAGAR, APRIL 25: As no single party won a majority to form the government in the 20-member Chakma Autonomous District Council after the election results declared on Tuesday.

According to the source, it is all set BJP-MNF to form the first coalition government to run jointly the CADC. The MNF is a member of the BJP-led North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA), which was formed to make the entire Northeast Congress free.

Counting of votes for 19 of the 20 MDC seats in CADC, while Congress prominent leader and former CADC Chief Executive Member, Kali Kumar Tongchangya was declared elected unopposed from the 18-Futuli MDC constituency of CADC earlier.

MNF contested all the 20 seats, has emerged the single largest party by winning eight seats, while the BJP, for the first time, has made inroads into Mizoram by bagging five seats, one seat short of the ruling Congress, which bagged six.
