Assam Rifiles nabbed 2 millitants in Tirap district of Arunachal

KHONSA, MAY 26: Two Over Ground Workers including one from NSCN (K) and another one from NSCN (M) were apprehended by Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles during relentless and extensive operations in Tirap and Longding district of South Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday.

A defence source informed that based on specific intelligence about rebels trying to terrorise people and carry out extortion in Wakka village, the Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles swiftly launched an operation resulting in the apprehension of self-styled Wangngang Lowang (18) of NSCN (IM)  who is resident of Sanliam village of Tirap district.

The SF has been carrying out aggressive operations in the South ALP and this apprehension has struck a major setback to the extortion activities being carried out by the Over Ground Worker (OGWs) in the area and proved to be a relief for the local population. Assam Rifles once again truly stood by their motto FRIENDS OF THE NORTH EAST PEOPLE”.
