APKGBVWA demands early issue of Text-books in 48 KGBVs

ITANAGAR, JAN 24:  As per the decision of the Govt to release / credit the Uniform and text book funds into respective SMC accounts the KGBVs have been receiving the Uniform money transferred into School accounts since 2016 by the District SSA Office in compliance of the Government order on top priority. But with regard to text book still the old trend is being continued and KGBVs are yet to receive the text book fund from the Department despite standing order from the Govt. since last 03 years. As a result, the students are being victimised and impacted upon due to non- receipt of the same.

Despite direction from the Government, KGBVs School is yet to receive books from the concerned DDSE office. It is pertinent to mention that non-availability of text books has caused enormous difficulties in running school in remote areas bordering China.

Sri Tamuk Tania, Chairman, APKGBVA (Arunachal Pradesh Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya Welfare Association) extending heartfelt gratitude to the new, dynamic and stable leadership in place under the new Chief Minister, Shri Pema Khanduji, expressed hoped that his benevolent Government would continue to give his priority particularly in girls education by way of timely fund releases to KGBVs knowing himself the difficulty of imparting education in remote and hilly areas due to self-belonging from such place. He further opined that under his good governance KGBVs would grow further with economic sustenance and continuation due to commitment of his Government on girl’s education sector. The President also observed that it is imperative on the part of Central government to change the salary norms for KGBV teachers as they are serving in tough and inhospitable terrains of Arunachal Pradesh which shares international borders with China, Myanmar and Bhutan. Therefore the associations urge upon the Director Elementary Education, Government of AP and State Project Director, SSA to provide books at the earliest in the best interest and well-being of students.

Further as per the joint meeting held on January 5th 2018 in between Arunachal Pradesh Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya Welfare Association and Arunachal Pradesh Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya has decided to adopt resolutions like enhancement of teacher salary, transfer of salary into school account as usual, staff appointment to be done on prior recommendation from NGOs only as these are the vital life lines which produce quality human resources instrumental in shaping and making a strong and vibrant state and nation.
