ITANAGAR, MAY 23: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) visited NERIST the premier educational institute of the State apprised the Director regarding the recent result of NEE-2018.
"Through reliable sources the recent NERIST entrance result the numbers of Chakma & Hajongs have been found to be qualified for the NEE-2018 Exams under Mizoram seats. The problem is that the Chakma & Hajong have been a burning issue in our state since 1960s. They were given illegally settlement in some pockets of Arunachal Pradesh in the year 1964", AAPSU stated in a Press release.
At the present juncture the absorbed of candidates from the said communities will affect the academic atmosphere of the institute and moreover the AAPSU spearheading the refugee movement in the State opined that the recent development in the institute will create psychological implications said AAPSU.
The AAPSU strongly opposed this results and demanded for immediate cancellation of their selection & admissions in NERIST. Instead of them the eligible tribal applicant belongs from Mizoram community must be replaced immediately.
The AAPSU forbid to take any admission from Chakma & Hajong community students in your institute until the vexed the issue of Chakma and Hajong refugee issue is solved in the State. As such situation will hamper the conducive environment of education in the premier institute.
